The Spanish team, led by Julen Lopetegui, will debut in the first Group C match against Costa Rica on 31. Australia and Ecuador complete the group of top candidate for the title, as indicated by the betting odds offered at the bookies. Argentina, registered in Group F, must play their first match against Mexico on 29. England and North Korea completed this difficult group. France, the pass play in Group A against hosts Colombia, Mali and South Korea. Portugal, the fifth in odds, is immersed in Group B and their opponents will be the always competitive selection of Uruguay, Cameroon and New Zealand. The first edition was held in 1977 in Túnez and the USSR was a great champion led by Sergei Baltacha, Andrei Bal, Vladimir Bessonov. The last edition in Egypt in 2009, will be remembered as the first time an African team, Ghana, took the Cup beat Brazil in the final. Spain, meanwhile, has won a Cup in 1999, breaking the hegemony that the South American teams had imposed the three previous editions.
