Beckham was applauded by his teammates, with whom he shared the first half of 2009 to be released by Los Angeles Galaxy. The U.S. team, which was the star for the rest of the course, returned to lend to the "Rossoneri", this time until June 2010. The midfielder arrived Thursday morning at Milan, where he hopes to get the right shape to be taken into account by Fabio Capello, England coach for the World Cup in South Africa. The Italian player had warned that he must participate in a competitive tournament if he wanted to partake of the next World Cup and today gave his support publicly. "I'll take the World Cup if he plays safe and is now fit," the coach said in an interview published today by the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport. Capello stressed that Beckham 34 years are no problem: "I am interested in quality and not just their age." The midfielder could return to wear the Milan shirt on Jan. 6 against Genoa at San Siro, where to return the "calcio" after the Christmas holidays.
