The Dublin club, settled for second-tier players, did stand the test of Madrid in front of a packed full of 10,800 fans at the stadium Tallaght.

The end only played the first half and Benzema in French, another major acquisition of Spanish club, scored 87 minutes to the goal of victory after receiving a pass from Argentine defender Gabriel Heinze.

It was also the first game led by Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, new coach of the team.

As expected, the grief was overwhelming dominance against a rival merengue played thrown back.

Pellegrini raised an attack with the trio formed by Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul Gonzalez and Argentine Gonzalo HiguaĆn. Benzema started in banking.

While lacking in marksmanship, Madrid showed a dynamic game and always aggressive.

Brazilian Kaka, the third of the big signings, was not at the start of the preseason because it has not returned from their vacation after participating in the Confederations Cup in South Africa.
