The win against Spain was great for the United States in Confederations Cup odds but anyone that watched the match realized the United States was fortunate to win. Oddsmakers currently have Brazil -300 favorite with a total of 2.5 Under. Granted, the USA rode their luck in the semi-final but after Brazil laboured to a 1-0 win against a defensive side last time out, I think goals could be at a premium here. Under 2.5 goals is 9/10 and this looks a great price to me when you consider how the game is likely to be played out. Brazil could run away with it if they score early but they aren’t showing any signs of this being likely at present and Dunga has instilled a more cautious approach to his side since taking the reigns in 2006. If the Americans do throw everything into their defence again then a Half-Time/Full-Time selection of Draw/Brazil at 7/2 could be an option, as it could take a while before Kaka and co get past the determined heroics of Jay Demerit, Carlos Bocanegra and co. Expect it to be a close game – though FIFA didn’t get their dream Spain vs Brazil final, USA vs Brazil has the potential to be just as spell-binding in it’s own way.
