The former AC Milan coach was fired just hours after the last league match of the 'Blues' in the 2010-2011 season, losing to Everton 1-0. Londoners finished nine points behind champions Manchester United. Ancelotti, 51, had arrived at the team bench in 2009, coming from Milan, and lived a great first year at the helm, though this season has seen very difficult moments. The team got better in the Premier League at the end, after a serious crisis in mid-season, and came to embarrass Manchester United in the race for the title, but a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford in early May was decisive for the fate of the championship. In the Champions League, Chelsea also hit against Manchester United in their quarter-final.
