David Villa ContractThe Barcelona sports vice president, Rafael Yuste, admitted yesterday that the club has begun to try to get the Valencia striker David Villa, but remains "open discussions" with other players.

His great rival, Real Madrid, was about to sign for Villa, but the Spanish press, just break off negotiations between the white and the club Valencia, so that the boat would take to get the Spanish international.

"More than the interest (in Valencian), there are many players who are interested in coming to play at Barca. Many. And that I think is very good and that people should know (..)", said Yuste a Catalan radio.

"Due to the success, many players have as a reference to the boat," he added, referring to the historic Treble managed by the organization this year azulgrana (League, Cup and Champions League).

In yesterday's edition, the Barcelona newspaper Mundo Deportivo published that Barca offered 35 million euros for the striker.

The news comes the same day that the Spanish press reports on the breakdown in negotiations between Real Madrid and Valencia for Villa after the team's president che, Manuel Lorente, asked for more money.

According to Spanish press, Real Madrid and Valencia have reached an agreement with the player for 42 million euros, but at the last minute Valencia would have asked for 50 million euros or 30 million and striker Alvaro Negredo.
