"Unfortunately I have been advised not to return to competition. I'll do when recovered one hundred percent. Do not want to risk having a relapse. This time I'll be smarter. I'm disappointed and I want to express my regret to the fans of British" says on its website. Woods, who already lost the U.S. Open, has not played a full tournament since injuring his knee and Achilles tendon in his left leg during the Masters. He played nine holes at The Players' Championship on 12 May, and withdrew from the tournament. The head of the tournament, Peter Dawson, has wished a speedy recovery to the golfer. "Naturally, we regret the absence of a player of his caliber, but we wish to recover and come back soon." Tiger Woods will be replaced by American Jason Dufner, who debuted in 'British', 2010, played at St. Andrews. He was also fifth in the PGA Championship last year.
