Federer to Semifinals in WimbledonRoger Federer neutralized the powerful serve of Ivo Karlovic on Wednesday and advanced to the semifinals of Wimbledon to take another step toward his 15th Grand Slam title.

American Andy Roddick, the Briton Andy Murray and German Tommy Haas completed the picture of the semifinalists.

In a few points short rallies, the Swiss broke serve twice to Croatian giant in stature of 2.08 meters to prevail 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 (3) in another sunny day in the All England Club.

Federer, seeking his sixth Wimbledon title arrived on the 21st consecutive time in the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament and stretched his streak of wins to 17 matches.

I love the record that I have to reach as many consecutive semifinals in Grand Slams, 21 is a large number, said Federer. That shows what I've been consistent.

Federer is tied with Pete Sampras with 14 titles in majors, the highest figure in history.

It was the ninth victory in 10 matches against Federer Karlovic, who played for the first time in the quarterfinals of a major.

Federer to face Haas in the semifinals, I was surprised 7-5, 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-3 to Serbian Novak Djokovic, Pre quarter. At 31 years, the German is the oldest tennis player in the semifinals.

Murray, third Pre, swept 7-5, 6-3, 6-2 to Spanish Juan Carlos Ferrero to reach first to the semifinals at Wimbledon and keep alive the hopes of local fans have a British champion for the first time since 1936.

I am confident because I have won many matches on grass, Murray said. But every day when I will play games, I know I have to play very well, and that makes the adrenaline starts to flow and makes me play better.

Murray will play against Roddick, who added 43 aces in his 6-3 victory, 6-7 (10), 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-4 over Australia's Lleyton Hewitt. The match lasted 3 hours, 50 minutes and Hewitt back after losing two of three in September.

However, Roddick won with his serve with the score 5-4 in the fifth.

It is a sign of its status as a player, because they continued to struggle and made it a battle, said Roddick, who lost the finals of Wimbledon in 2004 and 2005 before Federer.

Karlovic managed 23 aces to raise his total to 160 in the tournament, but Federer never faced a break point in the game. The Swiss star won 74 of his 85 points on serve.

It was difficult, because there were no rallies from the baseline or serve in the mine, said Federer. One always expects a difficult match. It is not easy to break (the service). I am very happy for having broken serve twice and winning the game.

Federer won 39 winners and only seven had not forced errors, while Karlovic joined _casi all 29 winners in saque_ and committed 17 errors.

The second world ranking he broke serve in the Croatian party of the fourth game, the first time Karlovic lost his serve the entire tournament.

The semifinals will be played Thursday in the women's branch, where the Williams sisters face a pair of Russian rivals.

Venus, who is seeking his third consecutive title at Wimbledon, will face world number one's Dinara Safina. Venus clash with Elena Dementieva.

The U.S. could face for the eighth time in a Grand Slam final, and for the fourth time the title of Wimbledon.
