When all goes well, celebrities can help increase sales of a product and strengthen the image of the manufacturer. But the surprising and sudden drop in Woods shows how quickly things can go wrong when a superstar's private life is exposed with a negative light by the current sensationalist news culture.
Woods and his advisers spent years cultivating a good guy image with his constant victories, both of which led him to become the first-and perhaps the last-athlete winner of $ 1,000 million. That also led to his downfall is so striking.

 The global consulting firm Accenture sponsored stayed with Tiger Woods by holding that the golfer "is no longer an appropriate representative" after the circumstances of the last two weeks.
The announcement made today by Accenture is the first statement of the company since the rumors about infidelity Woods emerged in recent weeks.
The company is the second major sponsor of Woods who is retiring. Gillette announced Saturday that Woods will remove their commercials for a period not specified.
Woods decided to withdraw indefinitely from golf to try to make up their marriage after mentioning for the first time he had committed infidelity.

 Nikolay Davydenko won the Tennis Masters for the first time in his career, becoming the first Russian who succeeds, beating Argentine Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, yesterday in the final in London .
Davydenko wins and 28 years of age with the most important title of his career, a year after losing the final of the "Masters Tournament" at the Serbian Novak Djokovic.
"Coming here as number seven and winning the tournament is something I wonder to myself," said Davydenko, who won on the road to the champions of the four Grand Slam tournaments of the year. "Congratulations, you made a very great week, won them all and are a great champion," said Del Potro.
Later, Argentina, only 21 years, said over his rival of the moment: "He plays like a Playstation. It is very difficult to score a point. "

 Rafael Nadal lost to Robin Soderling for the second straight, falling 6-4 today, 6-4 in their opening match at the Masters Cup, which closes the season.
Soderling, who dealt their first loss to Spanish clay when they played in the French Open this year, won the match in Group B with a combination of strong forehand and backhand that Nadal did not break.
Nadal, the second best player in the rankings, still has the possibility of reaching the semi-finals in the top eight players in the world.
Novak Djokovic faces Nikolay Davydenko in the other game on Monday in Group B.
