 With the Florida Derby now in the rearview mirror, the stage is set for this year’s “Run For The Roses” at the historic Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. 20 of the finest three-year-old thoroughbreds will hear the call to post cry out over the grand speakers before the most prestigious horse racing event in North American gets underway for the 137th time, and while it is still about a month away, there is already one horse that has separated itself from the pack as the online sports betting favorite to win this year’s Kentucky Derby.
Uncle Mo is slated as the 10/1 favorite to win this year’s Kentucky Derby, way ahead of the rest of the pack with a month to go before the May 7th race. An impressive finish at the mile-long Gulfstream Park race Timely Writer only enhanced the odds that this horse will come out on top in the first leg of the Triple Crown, and while Repole Stable elected not to enter its horse in the Florida Derby, there is every reason to think that it is still the frontrunner to race. That has a lot to do with the fact that Uncle Mo is trained by Todd Pletcher, the same man that oversaw 2010 Derby winner Super Saver.

 American Hunter Mahan leads the golf betting Cadillac championship after finishing the second round, which also meant the collapse in the classification of Tiger Woods.

 Roger Federer, world number two and defending champion, and Serbian Novak Djokovic (number three) went round yesterday, both with difficulties in the Australian Open tennis, while Argentine Juan Monaco was eliminated.
For its part, the highest ranked player in the world, the Spanish Rafael Nadal crushed last night (Thursday in Australia) to American Ryan Sweeting 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.
The overwhelming result of the Spaniard is in addition to his first game in which just spent three quarters of an hour on the track against Brazil's Marcos Daniel, who left without scoring a game (6-0 and 5-0)
