Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins PicksPhiladelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins – Sunday November 18, 2012 1:00PM EST

The sportsbook experts have seen all they really need to see to make a judgment on the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2012 season. Michael Vick was hammered by the Dallas defense in week 10 and eventually knocked out of the game with a concussion.

Rookie quarterback Nick Foles played behind that same Eagles’ offensive line against that same Dallas defense and was able to move the ball down the field and put his team in scoring position. It appears that the writing is on the wall for Michael Vick in Philadelphia, and the same could be said for head coach Andy Reid. As the Eagles prepare for the Redskins in week 11, it is really looking like these last few games will be Reid’s swan song in Philadelphia.

The Washington Redskins is an improved football team with Robert Griffin III, but Washington still shows some of the things that got it in trouble last year. The online betting experts still question some of the decisions that head coach Mike Shanahan is making and the Washington defense is less that consistent, especially in the red zone.

But Washington is learning how to win games and, regardless of what kinds of decisions Shanahan is making, he and son Kyle Shanahan, who also happens to be the Redskins' offensive coordinator, are doing a great job developing RG3 into a great NFL quarterback.

Philadelphia Eagles

The pieces are there for the Eagles to find success on offense. The bookies still consider running back Lesean McCoy and wide receiver Desean Jackson to be two of the best at their respective positions. The Eagles may need a pocket passer like Nick Foles to make this offense successful. But the Philadelphia defense is in shambles and changing defensive coordinators did not help. The Eagles’ defense cannot tackle and it cannot get pressure on the opposing quarterback. In the red zone, the Philadelphia defense is much too accommodating to the opposing offense. That is a trend that a change at quarterback is not going to stop.

Washington Redskins

Washington is pretty satisfied with the development of the offense. This allows the team to start focusing on replacing the aging players on the Redskins’ defense. A BSN Sports review of the Washington defense shows that leaders such as London Fletcher are getting up there in age and potential leaders like Brian Arakpo are proving to be too injury prone to be relied on as consistent leaders. But Washington is finally headed in the right direction and that has to be good news to Redskins’ fans.

The Bottom Line

The Eagles have not really had that moment yet where the team crashes and burns on national television. This game is setting itself up to be that moment, especially if the Eagles try and put a battered and ineffective Michael Vick under center.
