San Diego Chargers vs. Detroit Lions LinesOnline Betting Overview
The San Diego Chargers are 7-7 and still in the hunt for an AFC playoff spot. More than likely, the only playoff spot the Chargers can compete for at this point is the AFC West title. According to the price per head sports experts, the Chargers need a lot of help to win the AFC West. The primary thing the Chargers need is for the Denver Broncos to lose its last two remaining games. But with the Broncos playing the Buffalo Bills in week 16, it is unlikely that the Chargers will get the help it needs to win the division. Still, the Chargers continue to fight like it has a chance. In week 15, the Chargers upset the Baltimore Ravens 34-14 and played the kind of football that would have put the Chargers in first place in the AFC West earlier in the season. It may be too little, too late for the Chargers. But San Diego will play hard to finish the season at 8-8.

The Detroit Lions needed every second of its week 15 game against the Oakland Raiders to pull out the win.

Defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh returns to the lineup and blocks the field goal attempt at the end of the game to seal the win for the Lions. The bookie software has the Lions firmly in control of one of the NFC wild card spots by two games over the New York Giants. But the Lions know that anything can happen, and Detroit does not want to waste its first chance to be in the playoffs in over a decade. Both of these teams play hard down to the last play of the game and that is what will make this game exciting.

San Diego Chargers
Last season, the Chargers turned on the wins way too late in the season and missed the playoffs. This season, the Chargers are doing the same thing and will probably see the same results. It is curious to see if the Chargers’ fans and management will be interested in watching Norv Turner do this again next season as the coach of the team. The rumblings for removing Turner have already started, and a 5 dimes review of Turner’s time in San Diego shows that it may be time for the team to move on. The Chargers come into this game carrying a decent amount of momentum, but it may not be enough to match the momentum of the Detroit Lions.

Detroit Lions
The Lions are a young NFL team that still takes bad penalties and does stupid things. But underneath all of that youth is an extremely talented football team that, as it matures, will become one of the best in the league. The Lions are a long way from 0-16 and have no intentions on returning back to the NFL’s abyss of losing seasons. In reality, the Lions could split its last two games and still make the playoffs. But when you are dealing with a young team, accepting defeat at this point in the season is a very bad idea.

The Bottom Line
The Lions need to watch out for the personal foul penalties that it has become known for. It is quite possible that the Lions could be its own worst enemy in the playoffs. But for this game, the Lions have everything it needs to step in and win this very important game.
