2011 Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots OddsSports Betting Overview
Yes, that line is correct. In their pending week 13 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, the New England Patriots are 21 point favorites. In all reality, 21 points may not be enough. Colts’ fans have to stop focusing in on the loss of Peyton Manning as the reason why Indianapolis is 0-11. The Indianapolis defense gives up more points than any other defense in the NFL. The Colts’ offense is nothing to write home about, but when your defense is giving up the most points in the league it can make the offense’s job that much harder. Admittedly, part of the problem in Indianapolis is at quarterback. First, the Colts make the ill-advised move of signing veteran Kerry Collins for $2.5 million a year when Collins’ career was undoubtedly over. Secondly, the Colts are now paying for years of neglect with backup Curtis Painter.

The price per head sports fans in New England were a little unsure of what to expect from the Patriots in its week 12 meeting with the Eagles.

The bookie software showed that there could be a chance that the Philadelphia defense would give New England quarterback Tom Brady problems with the active secondary that the Eagles have. But with Brady in mid-season form, the Eagles’ defense was helpless. Brady and wide receiver Wes Welker carved up the Philadelphia defense while the New England defense had the Philly offense and backup quarterback Vince Young on the ropes all day long. The Patriots are in playoff form and that is really bad news for the Colts.

Indianapolis Colts
Some Colts fans are starting to wonder if Peyton Manning saw this collapse coming and that is why Manning chose to have season-ending surgery even before the season started. Did Manning throw in the towel before the season started? We will never know, but the truth is that not even Peyton Manning would be able to help the Colts this season. The bet online Colts’ defense is so bad this season that it is allowing almost 30 points per game on average and giving up an average of 390 yards of offense to every team it faces. The Colts’ offensive line is unable to protect the quarterback or open up running lanes and the Colts cannot seem to keep running backs healthy because of the bad offensive line play.

New England Patriots
The New England offense consists of long pass plays from quarterback Tom Brady to wide receiver Wes Welker. But they are not the beautiful, arching passes people are used to seeing in the NFL. Brady runs his offense on a short field, and then the receivers and tight ends extend the field with running after the catch. The NFL scores that the Patriots are running up should intimidate any defense, especially the Colts.

The Bottom Line
If this game were being played in week 16 or 17 when there is a chance that Brady may not play the entire game, then the score could be closer. But the Colts will face the full wrath of a Tom Brady that looks ready to challenge for another Super Bowl title this year.
