New York Jets vs. Philadelphia Eagles PicksNew York Jets @ Philadelphia Eagles – Thursday August 30, 2012 6:35PM EST Join Now to Bet on this Game!

The sportsbook world is trying really hard not so say "we told you so" to the New York Jets, but it is getting harder and harder to keep a lid on the cynicism. Critics have been telling the Jets for at least two years now that Mark Sanchez is not going to be the starting quarterback that the team needs for the future. But the team not only ignored the critics, it went so far as to bring in Tim Tebow to create a situation where there are two starting quarterbacks on the Jets roster that cannot throw the ball. The Tebow experiment is failing in New York, and the coming season does not look promising for Jets fans.

The Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with problems of their own in this preseason.

The online football betting experts have watched as both starting quarterback Michael Vick and backup quarterback Mike Kafka have experienced fairly serious injuries in the preseason. But the Eagles keep finding gold as third-string quarterback Nick Foles has been able to step up and do the job. The rest of the Eagles' roster is fairly healthy, but fans will only see the second and third-string players in this game as it is the last preseason game for the Jets and the Eagles.

New York Jets

The New York Jets have not scored an offensive touchdown in the preseason, and just about everyone is getting worried. The per head sportsbook experts are not seeing anything from the tandem of Tebow and Sanchez that would give fans a reason to be optimistic about the season. The Jets have one of the best defenses in football, but it will go to waste for another season as head coach Rex Ryan and the rest of the New York brass refuse to admit that they have no answers at quarterback.

Philadelphia Eagles

If you have not seen Philadelphia running back LeSean McCoy play yet, then be sure to catch the Eagles' first regular season game see what the hype is all about. McCoy and the rest of the offensive starters will not play in this game, but he is definitely worth the wait until opening day. As for the rest of the Eagles, the defense looks a little sluggish and head coach Andy Reid may start playing with the defensive depth chart in this game to see what kind of results he gets. A sportsbook review of Reid's normal preseason habits show that he will probably rest all of his starters for this final preseason game and try to straighten out his depth chart.

The Bottom Line

The Jets are in trouble and cannot seem to admit it. The dissention in the locker room this year will probably come from the New York defense as it gets tired of waiting for a real quarterback to come lead the team. As for this game, the Eagles have the depth they need to win this final preseason game of the year.
