Washington Redskins vs. Dallas CowboysBoth Washington and Dallas are coming off big wins in week 11, and in order to stay in the playoff picture, need to win again this week. The Thanksgiving game should be exciting as both teams are having decent seasons with exciting outcomes. The NFC East showdown could see Washington tie Dallas in the standings, or see Dallas go two games ahead of Washington. There are a lot of playoff implications with this game, making it a week 12 must watch.

Those who are interested in NFL betting will have a lot of fun with this game. The chances of the score being within three is very possible. Dallas had a tight overtime win against the Cleveland Browns, while Washington absolutely dismantled the Philadelphia Eagles.

Offensively, the Redskins with Robert Griffin III leading the charge have slightly better stats than the Cowboys. The Redskins average many more yards on the ground with 164 yard per game, compared to Dallas’ 85 rushing yards per game.

Alfred Morris leads the Redskins with 793 yards and five touchdowns, while Cowboy DeMarco Murray has had a disappointing an injury filled season only tallying 330 rushing yards. Where the Cowboys will shine is in the air with Tony Romo’s favorite targets Miles Austin and Dez Bryant have stepped up as consistent and clutch receivers. They average 287 passing yards per game, while the Redskins only average 217. It will be a rushing oriented offense versus a passing offense, which should make an interesting game. It is games like these that make football betting a difficult venture, as it is a hard game to call before it actually happens.

With the two offenses that are almost equally strong, it could come down to the defense. Washington has a better defense than Dallas, sporting better numbers in almost every aspect from rushing yards allowed per game to total points allowed per game. As long as Washington can hold back Miles Austin and Dez Bryant, they Cowboy’s should be limited in their number of yards. However, if Romo can pick a part the defense, there will be no stopping the Cowboys and they will surely win. Luckily, with the month of December almost among us, Romo’s traditionally sub-par performances might show up early and end Dallas’ season before it actually ends.

No doubt that this will be a close game, but if Washington plays their best they should be able to pull out a win. Many online sportsbooks have the Redskins as the favorite, but many other have the Cowboys listed instead. They have a hard schedule ahead of them, as they will play New York, followed by Baltimore so this win will be important going into those difficult games. On the other side, Dallas has a relatively easier schedule going to play the struggling Eagles and the ok at best Cincinnati Bengals.
