Cincinnati Bengals vs. Houston Texans OddsThe Cincinnati Bengals and the Houston Texans will fight on Saturday. Join Now to Bet on this Game!

Postseason virgin Houston arrives at playoff-island this week, liberating abstinate Texans’ fans in the process.

And while critics may say Houston backed into the postseason off three consecutive losses, the argument can be made they were learning on the job behind fi ll-in QB T.J. Yates.

And if ever a team was prepared to adjust to a 3rd-string signal caller, it was Houston and its head coach, Gary Kubiak.

After all, Kubiak played backup QB for nine years and has coached quarterbacks in the NFL for the last 17 years, including six with the Texans.

When Yates left last week’s game after separating his left shoulder, the call went out to veteran Jake Delhomme. However, Yates figures to get the start.

“All indications are that he’ll (Yates) be able to go,” Kubiak said.

A lot of fans are howling for Delhomme (5-3 SU, 6-2 ATS playoffs) to start against the Bengals, but it won’t happen as Kubiak strongly believes in Yates.

The bigger news is the return of home-run hitting Pro Bowl WR Andre Johnson. Meanwhile, our database alerts us to the fact that .625 or greater Wild Card home teams playing off a home loss are 8-2 SU and ATS in opening games, including 5-0 SU and ATS when favored by two or more points.

In addition, postseason teams off back-to-back losses with the better record are 9-1 SU and ATS.

On the fl ip side, the Bengals hit the highway knowing that non-division Wild Card road teams off a season-ending division defeat are 1-11 ATS since 1980.

With Cincinnati 0-5 ITS (In The Stats) in its last five games, look for Houston to make it four spread wins in a row in this series as these virgins go all they way and break their cherry today.

Sportsbooks currently have the Texans listed as 3-point favorites versus the Bengals, while the game's total is sitting at 38.
