The Chargers are at it again. Completely dominating opponents on the field with sometimes very little to show for it on the SU or ATS scorecards. Norv can be tough to back but the points in this one are simply too much to pass up, especially with last year’s home loss to the Pats ultimately costing the Bolts a spot in the playoffs. Currently the betting line is: Patriots listed as 6½-point favorites against the Chargers, while the game's total is sitting at 51½. Our NFL QB Club also reminds us that Philip Rivers is a competitive 10-5-1 ATS in his career when getting points while our database points out that: Game Two road dogs off a win/no-cover are 11-1 ATS since 1989 when facing a foe off a season-opening SU and ATS win. We should also mention the New England is a rather lethargic 4-9-1 ATS when not laying double-digits in non-division games off a Monday night encounter. The Patriots were a 38-24 winner in their most recent outing on the road against the Dolphins. They covered the 7.5–point betting spread as favorites. Speaking of that record-setting Monday night performance: we like fading teams off these types of efforts, especially those in the middle of a division sandwich. Do we dare say it? Yes – Chargers outright! San Diego Chargers most recently: New England Patriots most recently:
