Houston Texans @ New England Patriots – Sunday January 13, 2013 4:30PM ESTHouston Texans @ New England Patriots – Sunday January 13, 2013 4:30PM EST

The football betting crowd knows that the Houston Texans would love nothing more than to avenge its week 14 loss to the New England Patriots by beating the Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs, but things are never that easy when it comes to the Patriots. While the Texans want to get revenge for its embarrassing loss, Houston will need to focus on playing flawless football if it wants to come away with a road win over the New England Patriots in the playoffs.

The Patriots is facing another playoffs without tight end Rob Gronkowski in the lineup. Gronkowski’s injured arm is making it impossible for him to block effectively, and it is causing New England to leave him off the roster yet again. The online betting sites point out that Gronkowski did not play in the week 14 game against the Texans and New England had no problem compensating for him. But the Texans will turn up the defensive heat in this game and that could cause all kinds of problems for the Patriots that New England had not anticipated. Things are always different in the playoffs, but the Patriots do not want to take this game too lightly.

Houston Texans

The Texans had all kinds of problems containing the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense in the wild card game, especially in the second half of the game. The sportsbook software noticed several holes in the Houston defense that the Patriots could easily exploit in this game. The Patriots never seem to have a shortage of wide receivers that know how to get open and create plays for the offense. The Houston offense will have to play a ball possession game if it wants to assist its defense. The less time that Tom Brady and the New England offense have the ball, the less damage they can do.

New England Patriots

The 5dimes sports experts have learned to never bet against the New England Patriots in the playoffs, especially when the game is a rematch from a lopsided win in the regular season. The Patriots have the unique ability to learn every weakness a team has in the regular season and then create a game plan that exploits those weaknesses in the playoffs. The Patriots will play its game and give the Texans all it can handle. But, as the old saying goes, you can’t be the best until you beat the best.

The Bottom Line

There is a very good chance that this game will not be the lopsided blowout that it was in week 14. The Texans have also learned a lot from that game, but it remains to be seen if the Texans can learn enough to actually beat the New England Patriots in New England during the playoffs.
