As always, the football betting expectations are high in Valley Ranch, TX. The Dallas Cowboys feel as though it can put aside years of frustration and a legacy of embarrassing off the field conduct to come back and win the NFC East in 2012. Quarterback Tony Romo has even cut back on his summer golfing schedule to get in more practice time with his team. Things are getting serious with the Dallas Cowboys.
The San Diego Chargers do have a lot to prove in 2012. This is a team that has lived on its potential for the past four or five years and now it is time to either produce or fade away into the sunset. The legal online sports betting sites are reluctantly making the Chargers a preseason favorite to make the playoffs in the AFC.
Each time the sports betting world puts its faith in the Chargers, San Diego falls apart. If head coach Norv Turner wants to keep his job for any appreciable amount of time, then this is the season where that faith is restored and the Chargers make the playoffs.

Dallas wide receiver Dez Bryant is once again coming off of a summer where he made headlines with his legal troubles. At this point, Bryant's legal antics are all blending together, but the end result seems to be a distraction to his play on the field. The bookies just do not see how the same team that has failed to produce clutch touchdowns for the past three years will suddenly explode into a offensive force. Dallas Cowboys fans are starting to wonder the same thing.
The Cowboys finally addressed its problems at cornerback by drafting Morris Claiborne in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft. Now that defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has finally had an entire offseason to work with his defense, it is expected to be a much-improved unit. The defense should be a bright spot on an otherwise dim Dallas squad.
San Diego Chargers
The Chargers should have all of the inspiration and tools it needs to succeed in 2012. It looks like the 5dimes sports betting experts are ready to give San Diego one more shot at making the playoffs and taking a shot at a Super Bowl berth. But the Chargers are going to have to cut down on the penalties and bad mistakes if it wants to make any progress this season. San Diego has shown that it is able to erase great talent on offense and defense with undisciplined play. If San Diego can get itself under control, then it could be a factor in the AFC West standings.
The Bottom Line
The Cowboys will put up a good fight in this game, but the Dallas roster is just not deep enough to compete against the Chargers in the preseason. The most notable problems the Cowboys will have will be seen when the second and third-string Dallas defense tries to matchup with the second and third-string San Diego offense.
