FRIDAY, AUGUST 12
Miami over ATLANTA by 3
The Falcons flew into Miami last NFL betting pre-season taking 2.5 points and left with a 16-6 win. This didn’t come as a surprise to our betting database as the dog in this scrimmage owns a stellar 5-1 SU and ATS record. It also didn’t come as a surprise to our NFL Coaches League viewers as Tony Sparano’s pre-season antics mirrors his regular-season M.O.
The Dolphins’ head man is 5-1 ATS on the exhibition highway and a perfect 5-0 ATS as a pick or dog. However, he’s a fish out of water at home, posting a 2-3-1 ATS log while recording a 2-4-1 ATS mark when laying points. This dichotomy fits like a tee to his regular season numbers (7-18 ATS home / 5-14 ATS favorite, 17-7 ATS away / 19-11 ATS dog) as well. Numbers aside, look for the Fish and much-maligned QB Chad Henne to be champing at the bit to produce after missing the playoffs for a second consecutive season.
With the Falcons just 1-3 SU and ATS as home favorites versus an opponent with revenge – and eyeing a pre-season revenger of their own next week at Jacksonville – look for these Dolphins to ‘Flip’ last year’s result. It may not be ‘faster than lightning’ but we’re calling for the outright win.
