2012 NFL Betting SeasonThe best online betting sites had the Green Bay Packers as odds-on favorites to successfully defend its 2011 Super Bowl title in 2012. During the regular season, the Packers racked up a 15-1 record and looked unstoppable going into the playoffs. But when the Giants came to town in the divisional round of the playoffs, New York exposed every element that was wrong with the Green Bay game and left the Packers battered and angry. Join Now to Bet on this Game!

Now the Green Bay faithful are wondering if that anger is going to be enough to put the Pack back on top in 2012. As with 2011, the football betting experts are making the Packers the odds-on favorite to win it all in 2012. But if the Packers are going to make good on its potential, then it needs to make some serious changes to the way that the team goes about playing the game. You can bet that the Packers will run into stiff competition in its own division that will tell the story of how the entire 2012 season will go.

Offense

Aaron Rodgers is the key to the Green Bay Packers. If a defense can shut down Rodgers, then the Packers can be beat. The first team to shut Rodgers down was the Giants in the playoffs. But, as the Packers will admit, the inability of the Green Bay offense to perform in the playoffs was as much the fault of Green Bay as it was the Giants. In the playoff game against New York, the Packers look disinterested and disorganized. Rodgers was not sharp and his receivers were not catching the ball. It almost looked like the Packers expected the Giants to roll over and lose. When the Giants would not roll over, the Pack didn't know what to do.

The bookmaker betting software does not expect the Packers to take anything for granted in 2012. The cocky attitude on display from many of the Packers' players prior to the 2011 season is gone. The Green Bay Packers will be taking things very seriously in 2012.

Defense

The Packers must improve on defense if it wants to win another Super Bowl title. Green Bay had the 32nd ranked defense in the NFL in 2011 and it showed in the playoffs against the Giants. The Packers' secondary would consistently get beat for long plays down the field and that is the way that Giants quarterback Eli Manning knocked the Packers out of the playoffs.

The focus in 2011 was on rushing the passer. When the front seven could not get pressure on the opposing quarterback, then everything fell apart. Expect the Packers to go back to an approach that allows Clay Mathews to terrorize the quarterback and brings the rest of the Packers defense back to defend the rest of the field.

Outlook

The incredible offensive and special teams talent on the Packers' roster is what makes it a favorite to win the Super Bowl every season. A sportsbook review of last season shows a learning year for the Packers. Expect a more focused but less cocky Packers team to compete for an NFC wild card spot in 2012.
