The sportsbook experts are seeing a shift in the AFC West that many had predicted could happen the day that Peyton Manning joined the Denver Broncos. After a rough start to the 2012 season, the Broncos finally have it together and has climbed to the top of the AFC West standings with a 4-3 record. The San Diego Chargers, who started out very well in the 2012 season, have lost three games in a row and is sinking quickly in the standings. If the Chargers want to gain a little momentum back, then a win in week nine over division opponent Kansas City is just what the doctor ordered.

The Kansas City Chiefs are having all of the problems bad teams have. The football betting media reported last week that head coach Romeo Crennel was benching starting quarterback Matt Cassel in lieu of backup Brady Quinn.

The last time this happened for Quinn, he did a great job in Cleveland until he got hurt and it stunted his career with the Browns. One quarter into his second game as the Kansas City starter, Quinn was injured and Cassel was back under center. The quarterback that the head coach had lost confidence in was now back in command, and the Chiefs are just having all kinds of problems.

San Diego Chargers

The online sportsbook experts are being honest when they say that the Norv Turner era in San Diego has to end. As the San Diego head coach, Turner always manages to find ways to lose games that cost the Chargers playoff spots. Turner’s game day decision making process and his inability to get any discipline into his game plan is costing the Chargers games. If the Chargers do not make the playoffs this season, then look for changes in San Diego. The only question is whether or not one of those changes will be at head coach.

Kansas City Chiefs

The 5dimes experts agree that Romeo Crennel is a quality NFL head coach that has very little to work with in Kansas City. The Kansas City defense is inconsistent against the run and the pass, and the offense cannot maintain possession long enough to score points or give the defense a rest. Nothing seems to be working in Kansas City and that could be why the Chiefs are trying out a new quarterback. It is doubtful that Crennel is already clamoring to keep his job, but he will need better pieces around him if the Chiefs want Crennel to start winning.

The Bottom Line

The Chargers will be able to keep pace in the AFC West by winning this divisional game over the Chiefs. But if the Chargers want to really make the playoffs, then there will need to be significant improvements evident in this game.
