NFL 2014: Detroit Lions Analysis

Detroit Lions 2014 seasonThe Detroit Lions are like any political campaign: many promises, but once elected, disappoint everyone.

Once again, this team has incredible offensive potential. Finally Calvin Johnson will get a decent couple in the receiving corps, Golden Tate. If that was shortly elected tight end Eric Ebron in the first round to align with Brando Pettigrew.

Reggie Bush wore last season in the backfield, beating a thousand yards, so all the pin fall on Matthew Stafford. If he can be more consistent, the claws of these Lions could scare anyone; however; your goal will be to have a season like 2011, when he threw 41 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

Otherwise, it will be a merciless 2014 for Detroit, especially by the absence of defensive solidity.

Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley make up perhaps the best pair of defensive tackles in the NFL, generating effective in defending the running game. Both have only one remaining year of his contract, and coincidentally there have been training in great shape. We can expect great performances of these 'angels', extensions that look juicy.

However, the 'Achilles heel' is behind them, in a porous secondary that gives too many facilities to rival quarterback.

If you intend to compete, their offense will have to carburar from the start and get at least 30 points per game to think playoffs. The downside is that the NFC North is tough, Green Bay and Chicago are the natural candidates to enter postseason.
