The knee-jerk reaction is to jump on the Saints’ in this game like macaroni-to-American cheese, but since we’re counting triglycerides these days we’ll avoid this fatty temptation. For openers, it’s seldom that New Orleans rewards its backers in this role where they are a diet-busting 1-16 ATS as division home chalk of 7 or more points. We also find it hard to swallow favorites of this size that sport a rush defense allowing 5.5 YPR. Granted, after last year’s 10-win surprise season, the Bucs are crashing back to earth this campaign faster than Usain Bolt but they take the field today sporting a glossy 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS mark in games with rest. In addition, Tampa has enjoyed the restaurants on Bourbon Street where they are 7-1 ATS in their last eight visits. The devil be damned… we’re passing on the Saints and flirting, instead, with the calorie-conscious visitor.
