New Orleans over Chicago by 6
The Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints will meet this Sunday at Louisiana Superdome.
Saints’ hopes of knocking off defending Super Bowl champion Packers ended at the half-yard line in the NFL season opener last Thursday.
Their hopes of bouncing back today are not as clear-cut as you might imagine, given the fact that NFL Game Two favorites who opened the season on a Thursday night are just 3-10 ATS, including 1-6 ATS when playing at home.
Sportsbooks currently have the Saints listed as 7-point favorites versus the Bears, while the game's total is sitting at 47.
Toss in New Orleans’ distasteful 3-6 SU and 2-6-1 ATS mark in games after surrendering 35 or more points in their last game and you can understand our consternation.
Meanwhile, the Bears enter off a statement-making win over the Falcons knowing Lovie Smith is just 2-11 SU and ATS as a non-division dog when facing a foe off a loss – and suddenly we have a conundrum on our hands. With that, we’ll wash our hands of this contest.
Betting trends to consider: The total has gone OVER in 6 of Chicago's last 7 games when playing New Orleans Chicago is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games on the road The total has gone OVER in 4 of Chicago's last 5 games when playing on the road against New Orleans Chicago is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games when playing New Orleans The total has gone OVER in 6 of New Orleans's last 7 games when playing Chicago The total has gone OVER in 4 of New Orleans's last 5 games when playing at home against Chicago New Orleans is 17-6 SU in its last 23 games at home New Orleans is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games when playing at home against Chicago
