Bet Football Online – Raiders, Cowboys Clash In “Big D”

Oakland Raiders vs. Dallas Cowboys odds to winYou’ve been waiting to bet football online all summer, and the time is finally here, although it’s just preseason action.  Oakland will head to Dallas to face the Cowboys, who already have a game under their belt, which gives them an advantage heading into this meeting.

Raiders Cowboys Betting – Thursday, August 12, 9:00 PM ET

The Raiders actually made some positive moves during the offseason, getting rid of JaMarcus Russell, one of the biggest No.1 busts in the history of the league, and picking up Jason Campbell.  While the Raiders haven’t confirmed him as the starter yet, but we don’t think they would bring in Campbell from Washington and put him behind Bruce Gradkowski (who gave the Raiders a little fire last season), Kyle Boller and Charlie Frye.  However, the Raiders still don’t have receivers, the ground game is sketchy at best, and the offensive line could use some work, although they did get the lineman they wanted in Bruce Campbell.  The player to watch, for however long he is on the field, is rookie linebacker Rolando McClain, and those who bet on NCAA football will remember him leading the best defense in the nation at Alabama.

The Raiders may have actually made a great pick, although we’re cautious, because it’s the Raiders.

The Cowboys beat Cincinnati 16-7 in the Hall of Fame game, forcing four turnovers, and Stephen McGee did good work at quarterback, although he’ll still likely be behind Tony Romo and Jon Kitna.  However, Dallas fans would have loved to see rookie receiver Dez Bryant, who is likely out for the rest of the preseason with an ailing ankle, and he may not even be ready for the regular-season opener.  The same goes for rookie linebacker Sean Lee, and Leon and Jason Williams both played very well in the Cincinnati game.  Jamar Wall also had a decent game at corner, which is good for the Cowboys as Terence Newman isn’t getting any younger, even though he hasn’t lost a step yet.

Those betting NFL odds will find the Cowboys to be a 5-point favorite at home, where they dropped the Raiders 24-7 last season.  However, we’re going with the Raiders for the upset in this preseason contest as the Cowboys just played on Sunday night, and now have to turn around and play on Thursday.  This will be a real test of the Cowboys’ depth, and even if they lose this game, it isn’t really a big deal.  Dallas will likely err on the side of caution so they can avoid any injuries, while the Raiders will be going at it full throttle, and they’ll be eager to get this season on the road to see what they have.
