Matthew Stafford was victorious in the battle of quarterbacks in the Detroit Lions. The team's coach, Jim Schwartz, said he offered the job to rookie because of his performance in the preseason.
Schwartz also said that since the first play proved to have more energy and drive that Culpepper.
"This is not an experiment or a temporary job," said Schwartz. Stafford will be on the field ready to win, and that's exactly what it takes in this league. "
The coach turned to his team, confirming that the first pick in the Draft 2009 would be the starting quarterback in the first game of the season against the New Orleans Saints.
Stafford struggled against Daunte Culpepper for this position, Schwartz said that the case is not about that Culpepper has lost his chance, simply Stafford won.

The dangerous blocked that Brett Favre made against Eugene Wilson, Houston Texans defensive, in Week 3 of the preseason, has cost the veteran quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings a fine of $ 10,000 imposed by the NFL.
Favre, who did not see action in the final exhibition game against the Dallas Cowboys last Friday, playing just his second game with the Vikings since he signed last Aug. 18.
It was filed in mourning Monday evening, Aug. 31, when the veteran 39-year-old wide receiver was placed in a variant of the training "Wildcat". Rookie receiver Percy Harvin was placed behind the center and received the ball and started running.
Favre was then bent over to get in the way of Wilson, free safety, and blocked it at the height of the legs, which is known as a "crack-back" block ", which is punishable as a personal foul and 15 yards to be considered very dangerous, threatening the physical integrity of the players.

I really don't know what to make of Dallas' chances in 2009. On one hand, they are rid of the apparent drain on the organization, T.O. On the other hand, is the talent in the organization simply overrated. The Cowboys haven't won a playoff game since Troy Aikman was in town. I'll say 10 wins, but not enthusiastically.
Regular Season Wins Prop: Over 9 (-155) / Under 9 (+125)
