San Francisco 49ers defeat the Cincinnati BengalsIn a game dominated by defenses, the San Francisco 49ers came from behind to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 13-8 in Week 3 of the NFL.

The only touchdown of the first half was a field goal from 22 yards by Mike Nugent.

In the third quarter, the 49ers tied the boxes with a field goal from 23 yards from the veteran former Eagle, David Akers.

Nugent returned to put the Bengals ahead in the fourth quarter field goal from 23 yards but the only touchdown of the game (7-yard carry Kendall Hunter) took the lead they would not miss San Francisco.

A field goal Akers 53-yard assured the triumph of the bay.

To finish time on the clock, punter for the 49ers, Andy Lee ran up out of his own end zone for a safety that put the final numbers to the meeting.

Tight end Vernon Davis was the player of the game with 8 catches for 114 yards.

With this result, San Francisco is at the top of the NFC West with a 2-1 record, while Cincinnati fell to 1-2.
