San Diego State vs. Northern Colorado NCAA Basketball Betting Lines

San Diego State vs. Northern Colorado Odds and PicksThe San Diego State Aztecs face Northern Colorado on Thursday March 17th, 2011; they are looking to build on their 32-2 mark against the 21-10 Bears in college basketball betting at McKale Center.

San Diego State is currently -15½ point favorite at Bodog sportsbook.

San Diego State would have completed a perfect 34-0 betting season. Still, a 32-2 finish –  topped off by a 72-64 thrashing of the ‘Y’ to claim the MWC tourney crown – must make head coach Steve Fisher think back to the days of the Fab Five when he took Michigan to the
NCAA championship betting game.

Led by forward Kawhi Leonard, a Kevin Love-clone who tallied 20-plus double/doubles, these guys came dangerously close to snaring a No. 1 seed. But we have a dilemma. Do we cast aside this experienced, five-returning starter team because the Aztecs have (a) never won a game in this tournament (0-6) and (b) they’re laying teens off a huge, emotional double-revenge victory?

Or do we ignore the warning signals and lay the big price?

One thing we DO know: Northern Colorado will be jacked up higher than a speed-freak on a space shuttle after landing a spot in the Big Dance in just its fourth year in Division 1 basketball. Thanks largely to the play of league MVP guard Devon Beitzel, the Bears roll into this tournament on a seven-game win streak. And if you’re looking for a sizable dog that can knock down free throws, check out the Bears’ rugged 77.2% performance at the charity stripe. Jeez, what’s a capper to do? Okay… we’ll shade the sun-worshippers ever so slightly.
