College Basketball Betting: Wildcats Unwilling To Move From That No. 1 Spot

College Basketball Betting OddsWhile the top teams in the nation fight it out for No. 1 ahead of the 2012 March Madness betting tournament, there is still a lot to be decided in terms of conference championships, with all of the action continuing this weekend on another Super Saturday in college hoops. Here is a quick look at four of the key college basketball betting matchups for this coming Saturday.

(3) Missouri Tigers @ Texas A&M Aggies
Saturday, 2:00 PM ET

The most pleasant surprise in the Big 12 this season has been the play of No. 3 Missouri, which pulled ahead of No. 5 Kansas in the national rankings this past week but still remains one-half game back in the conference standings. The Tigers have already mauled the Jayhawks once this season, and winning both games against the No. 10 Baylor Bears solidified their position in the conference.

A Big 12 championship will require beating Kansas at least one more time, and while the Jayhawks represent their biggest obstacle, Missouri cannot afford to drop a game against a team like the Aggies as the pay head bookies favorite.

College Basketball Betting Pick: Missouri Tigers – 4.5

Ole Miss Rebels @ (1) Kentucky Wildcats
Saturday, 4:00 PM ET

A couple of early wins over both Kansas and North Carolina helped the Wildcats establish themselves among the teams to beat, and an easy SEC schedule has only helped them move to No. 1 and stay there over the past couple of weeks. The No. 7 Florida Gators were expected to be Kentucky’s biggest conference challenge, but they won that game by 20 last week, so it really isn’t unreasonable to think that they will now run the table and finish No. 1.

College Basketball Betting Pick: Kentucky Wildcats – 5.5

Texas Tech Red Raiders @ (5) Kansas Jayhawks
Saturday, 8:00 PM ET

A tough road loss to Missouri has held Kansas back in its bid to put a stranglehold on the Big 12, but they are still in control of their own destiny if they can win the rest of the way. The Jayhawks play a Texas Tech team with just one win in 13 conference games this season on Saturday, the first of four remaining games against unranked opponents with a rematch against the Tigers at home as the only real challenge left on their schedule.

College Basketball Betting Pick: Kansas Jayhawks – 6.5

(6) Ohio State Buckeyes @ (19) Michigan Wolverines
Saturday, 9:00 PM ET

The biggest conference showdown this weekend will be between the No. 6 Buckeyes and the No. 19 Wolverines in the Big Ten, with just one game separating these teams for top spot in the conference. The door was left open by Ohio State when it faltered to Michigan State at home last week, and with three ranked opponents left on its schedule there are no guarantees for how their season will finish. Michigan meanwhile has bounced back with consecutive wins following a loss of their own to the Spartans, and this game represents their final contest against a nationally-ranked opponent the remainder of the way. The Wolverines have fought hard all year to get to this point, and now they will capitalize as Betonline underdogs.

College Basketball Betting Pick: Michigan Wolverines + 1.5
