2011 NCAA Basketball BettingMiami Ohio vs. Wright St.

The pundits may have gotten this one ‘Wright.’ Despite 102 wins over the past five betting seasons, the Raiders were picked to finish last in the Horizon.

Sophomore Cole Darling (4.3 PPG last year) is the only returning starter from last season’s 19-win team and it has showed as Billy Donlon’s crew is off to a 2-5 start.

To complicate matters, the Raiders will be facing a Miami Ohio squad eager to make amends for last year’s 15-point defeat in Dayton, a loss that denied the 16-17 Redhawks a winning season.

Miami’s 5-0 SU and ATS record in its last fi ve home games with revenge this calendar year and 3-0 SU and ATS mark in this series when arriving off a SU loss – along with the Raiders’ 2-6-1 ATS log on the road against nonconference opposition with revenge – says they return the favor.

It’s the Hawks, not the Wrights, that take fl ight this afternoon in Oxford.

Kansas vs. Ohio St.

We’ll start in Lawrence where preseason powerhouse Ohio State hits the road for the first time all season – and it couldn’t have come at a worse time.

They’ll put their No. 2 ranking on the line against a Kansas squad that is riding a 51-game home win streak against non-conference opposition…and they may have to do it without Player of the Year candidate Jared Sullinger, who is suffering from back spasms.

As it is, the Buckeyes are just 4-14 ATS in initial roadies and a winless 0-3 SU in this series since 1997.

With Kansas 133-7 SU at home under HC Bill Self, including 80-7 SU and 28-14-1 ATS when not laying double digits, look for the Jayhawks to improve to 19-1 SU at Allen Fieldhouse against undefeated opposition.

We’re eyeing the hosts at pick, plus or minus. You should, too.

Indiana vs. Kentucky

Like Ohio State, the top-ranked ‘Cats are making their 2011-12 road debut on a tough court.

The Hoosiers are 16-3 SU and 14-5 ATS as undefeated lined-hosts and a dangerous 13-5 SU and 19-9 ATS as home dogs when they own a win percentage of .416 or more on the season.

With Kentucky idle for seven days and still aglow over last week’s hard-fought, 1-point win over the Tar Heels, look for them to fall to 7-12 and 4-13 ATS in their first road game of the season.

Another (Number) ONE bites the dust as Indiana makes up for three years of series futility in surprising style today.
