College Basketball Betting: Penn State vs. Temple Odds

Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Temple Owls PicksPenn State Nittany Lions and the Temple Owls will battle this Thursday night at McKale Center at 2:15pm EST and will be televised on TNT.

Temple Owls are the favorites at Bodog sportsbook for this match up and the betting line is Owls 2.5 and the game’s total is set at 121.

The Owls have not performed well in this role, going 2-5 ATS versus non-conference foes this year (0-3 with three-plus days rest). The Owls may have had their wings clipped in the A10 tournament but we think they’ve got plenty of fl ight left in ‘em. Our database certainly agrees, churning out some good numbers on Temple’s behalf. Not only have the Owls gone 12-4 ATS as chalk of fewer than 14 points this year, they’ve also shown a profit t against non-conference opposition, posting a solid 10-4 SU and 9-5 ATS record.

San Diego State vs. Northern Colorado NCAA Basketball Betting Lines

San Diego State vs. Northern Colorado Odds and PicksThe San Diego State Aztecs face Northern Colorado on Thursday March 17th, 2011; they are looking to build on their 32-2 mark against the 21-10 Bears in college basketball betting at McKale Center.

San Diego State is currently -15½ point favorite at Bodog sportsbook.

San Diego State would have completed a perfect 34-0 betting season. Still, a 32-2 finish –  topped off by a 72-64 thrashing of the ‘Y’ to claim the MWC tourney crown – must make head coach Steve Fisher think back to the days of the Fab Five when he took Michigan to the
NCAA championship betting game.

Led by forward Kawhi Leonard, a Kevin Love-clone who tallied 20-plus double/doubles, these guys came dangerously close to snaring a No. 1 seed. But we have a dilemma. Do we cast aside this experienced, five-returning starter team because the Aztecs have (a) never won a game in this tournament (0-6) and (b) they’re laying teens off a huge, emotional double-revenge victory?

2011 NCAA Tournament Betting: UCLA Vs. Michigan State Odds Preview

UCLA Vs. Michigan State Odds and PredictionUCLA No. 7 seed in the Southeast Region, will battle with the No. 10 seed Michigan St. Spartans on Thursday night.

Bodog sportsbook currently have Michigan St 1.5 point favorites against UCLA.

Michigan State edition has been underachieving all
betting season long and with a 5-13 SU and 5-12-1 ATS mark against fellow tourney teams this season, Sparty is extremely fortunate to garner a bid. And fortunately for us, somehow the Spartans have been given the label of favorite this evening. How lucky, you ask?

Looking at their 6-16 ATS log when laying points this season, including 3-6 SU and 1-7-1 ATS as favorites of six or less points, how does VERY lucky sound? Especially when you consider that the Bruins are 11-4 SU in their 15 meetings against Big Ten opposition and their head coach, Ben Howland, owns a 14-4 SU and 13-4-1 ATS mark in his 18 dealings with the conference.

NCAA Tournament Betting Odds: Kentucky vs. Princeton

Kentucky vs. Princeton Odds and PicksNo. 13 Princeton will face No. 4 Kentucky this Thursday March 17th, 2011 at St. Petes Times Forum.

The Wildcats had their way with an Ivy League team in the second round of last year’s tourney (beat Cornell 62-45) but the feeling here is the KY Jelly factory will more likely be zoned in on ‘West by God’ and a second round matchup with WVU as the Mountaineers upset the ‘Cats in last year’s Elite 8. Calipari and company shouldn’t look too far ahead.

In four years under HC Sydney Johnson, a former Ivy League Player of the Year for the Tigers in 1997, Princeton is 57-37-2 ATS. And when the opponent arrives off a SU and ATS win, that numbers tightens to 21-8 ATS, including 5-0 ATS as a dog of more than seven points. Rest assured, these Tigers will not be intimidated. And speaking of rest, Princeton is 18-2 SU and 16-2 ATS over its last 20 games when having three or more days to ‘study’ an opponent, including 5-0 ATS when taking points.
