2011 Kentucky Wildcats AnalysisIn this first installment will discuss the team that until last week held the top spot in the rankings. Kentucky is one of the most traditional teams and the second winner of this competition with up to seven NCAA titles.
As if this were not enough, have one of the most prestigious coaches in the nation, John Calipari, a guarantee to achieve each year to the best Recruits (novice) and have a competitive package every year.

The gameplay is simple and Calipari is based on exploiting the enormous potential of his players physical using rapid counterattacks, penetrations to the basket and stifling defense. A system that at times bears more similarities to basketball with the iron street systems and boards of other coaches.

West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Baylor Bears OddsDespite some tough losses handled by the Ohio State Buckeyes and Kentucky Wildcats, Perry Jones III and the No. 7 Baylor Bears haven’t been able to earn enough respect to climb in to the top-five just yet, although that could change over the next couple of weeks if they keep on playing as they have. The Bears opened their season with 10 straight wins, and will look to build on that momentum on Friday when they host an underrated opponent in the West Virginia Mountaineers as legitimate sports betting favorites.

West Virginia Mountaineers @ Baylor Bears (7)
Friday December 23, 2011 – 9:00 PM ET

American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas

College Basketball Betting Line: Baylor Bears – 6.5

The Mountaineers may rank among the most underrated teams in the nation right now, particularly because they aren’t ranked at all.

2011 NCAA Basketball BettingMiami Ohio vs. Wright St.

The pundits may have gotten this one ‘Wright.’ Despite 102 wins over the past five betting seasons, the Raiders were picked to finish last in the Horizon.

Sophomore Cole Darling (4.3 PPG last year) is the only returning starter from last season’s 19-win team and it has showed as Billy Donlon’s crew is off to a 2-5 start.

To complicate matters, the Raiders will be facing a Miami Ohio squad eager to make amends for last year’s 15-point defeat in Dayton, a loss that denied the 16-17 Redhawks a winning season.

Miami’s 5-0 SU and ATS record in its last fi ve home games with revenge this calendar year and 3-0 SU and ATS mark in this series when arriving off a SU loss – along with the Raiders’ 2-6-1 ATS log on the road against nonconference opposition with revenge – says they return the favor.

With each team currently sitting at one and one in the round robin portion of the tournament, it stands to reason that the winner of tonight’s game will still have an opportunity to qualify for the finals later this week.

On paper, the Bruins and Wolverines are evenly matched, as both programs have steadily improved over the last couple of seasons.
