The Current betting line is Longhorns 3½-point favorites against the Bruins, while the game's total is sitting at 45. What is it they say – if you have two quarterbacks, you have none? Well, what the heck do you do call a team with THREE signal-callers? Some may call it a nightmare but we prefer to term it a handicapper’s dream. For the time being, Mack Brown has replaced starting QB Garrett Gilbert with the two-headed monster rotation of Colt’s sophomore brother Case McCoy (probably have a sister named Copper) and freshman David Ash as the Longhorns take to the road for the first time this season. When that doesn’t work, look for Gilbert to regain the reins – though it may be too late for another second-half comeback. As it is, our numbers are fully behind the hosts: UCLA is a slick 9-0 ATS as non-conference home dogs and 7-1 ATS in the second of back-to-back homers while the Longhorns are 1-4 ATS versus the Pac-12 and 1-3 ATS in their first roadie of the season. Even our NCAA Coaches League backs the Bruins as ‘The Slickster’ is 14-7 ATS in his career as a home dog, including 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS in non-conference affairs. Meanwhile, Ol’ Mackie is just 5-19 SU and 8-14-2 ATS away with revenge, including 0-3 ATS when favored. That revenge stems from a 34-12 beating that UCLA handed the ‘Horns last season in Austin as 15.5-point dogs. Rick’s numbers say they do it again. UCLA, outright!
