The money-burning Aggies (2-7 ATS) have disappointed us plenty this college football betting season but this is not the week to mine elsewhere. For starters, their last trip to Manhattan resulted in 62-14 thrashing – as 6.5-point chalk, no less – and they may be catching the surprising Wildcats at just the right time. We guess if there is such a thing as a confidence-building loss, it happened last week to the Wildcats in Stillwater. But we must question their mental state as they were within a few yards of taking the then No. 3 team in the country to overtime. Yes, recent series history (2-0 SU last two, 3-0 ATS last squandered numerous scoring opportunities in the defeat, snapping a five-game win skein). Eight BYU drives moved past TCU’s 33-yard line but only two ended in touchdowns while six other trips resulted in just 6 points, results that were frustrating for QB Riley Nelson. “Look at all the points we left out on the field,” Nelson complained, and with the ‘Y’ now 4-0 SU and ATS in its last four games with rest, we expect to see a more efficient Cougar offense tonight in Provo. We’re certainly aware that Idaho thrives as a road dog, going 11-4 ATS in its last 15 tries – including 3-1 ATS this year – but the Vandals have only ONE stats win to their credit in 2011, and that was versus North Dakota. That doesn’t bode well against a hard-charging, angry bunch of Mormons that are 5-1 SU since making the switch to QB Nelson. We’re not advising you to break any codes of conduct but you really should lay it here. Oddsmakers currently have Texas A&M listed as 5½-point favorites versus the Wildcats, and the game's total is sitting at 66.
