Sweet 16 Betting OddsWhile the path to the Sweet 16 was a relative breeze for the number one seed in the South bracket, the number four seed barely squeaked past its second round opponent, keeping its NCAA national title hopes alive for at least one more contest, and a big payday on the March Madness odds for enthusiasts who wagered on their advancing.

What: NCAA Basketball Betting

When: Friday March 26, 2010

Where: Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas

The Road To The Sweet 16: Purdue

After dismissing Sienna with relative ease in a 72-64 win, the Boilermakers barely squeezed past Texas A&M 63-61 to reach the regional semi finals for the March Madness picks.

Purdue had to rally back from 11-points down in the second half for a chance to win it late, when two-time Big Ten defensive player of the year Chris Kramer decided to show his offensive prowess, ignoring his coaches call for the final play, and drove to the rim for the game-winning basket with 4.2 seconds left to play. Kramer has filled in admirably for injured star Robbie Hummel, including a team-high 17 points in the win over the Aggies. Three other players reached double-digit scoring totals, including guard E’Twaun Moore who had 15, and grabbed six rebounds.

The Road To The Sweet 16: Duke

The Blue Devils have encountered little resistance in the opening two rounds blowing out play-in seed Arkansas-Pine Bluff 73-44, before capping California 68-53. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski leads all coaches with 19 appearances in the Sweet 16, and his defensive game plan is a major reason why Duke has been so successful during NCAA March Madness, allowing an average of just 48.5 points after two games. Center Brian Zoubek scored 14 and grabbed 13 rebounds in the win over the Golden Bears, taking advantage of his size in the post. The 7’1 monster has been complimented excellently by forward Kyle Singler and guard Nolan Smith, who combined for 37 points on 15-for-30 shooting from the field against California.

Who Will Advance To The Elite Eight: Purdue vs Duke

The Boilermakers barely escaped their sportsbook reviews second round contest with Texas A&M, and when you consider the talent level of the Aggies in comparison with that of the Blue Devils it is hard to envision a scenario where Purdue can somehow reach the Elite Eight. Duke is playing some of its best ball of the season, is playing confident at both ends of the floor, and has bought in to the philosophies of an intelligent coach that has been there before. A loss to the Boilermakers would take a major collapse, something unlikely to happen with a team playing with such focus and determination.

Betting Prediction: Duke
