The only other pre-season Top 25 squad on the slate, Mississippi State, takes to the road for what should be its usual pounding of Memphis. These two got it on from 1980-2003 with State winning the last ten on the SU scoreboard and the final four on the ATS ledger before taking a six-year hiatus. They renewed their one-sided ‘rivalry’ last betting season to more of the same with the Bulldogs handing the Tigers a 49-7 thumping in Starkville.
To further side with the felines in this battle of cats and dogs, the Tigers are 11-5 ATS as double-digit non-conference home dogs and have only suffered one loss by more than 24 points over its last 28 home openers. And despite a marshmallow offense that, according to BSN Sports , “serves up turnovers like Pillsbury,” BSN Sports reports that Memphis owns the second best defensive line in Conference USA. With that, we’ll bank on the defense to cash this four-touchdown spread ticket.
