NCAA Football Betting - Holiday Bowl Preview at BSN SportsArizona Wildcats vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

College Football Odds: Arizona -2

Two teams that were so close to playing in BCS bowls will have to pick up the pieces and play in a December 30th bowl instead. Both teams lost on national television late in the year and internet betting cappers will have to gauge the motivation for both teams as they head to the Holiday Bowl.

Arizona  Season Recap:

Those gambling on sports know that Arizona had a surprising season and while it wasn’t fantastic, it was good enough to get themselves in position to earn a Rose Bowl berth. They were so close as they were up two scores in the fourth quarter against the Oregon Ducks only to allow them to come all the way back and win in double overtime.

Now Mike Stoops and company will have to settle for the Holiday Bowl, which won’t be as exciting. Even so, this is not a team that has been bowling frequently and should be focused for this game.

Nebraska Season Recap:

How close did Nebraska come to being BCS-bound? They were one second away - literally. Nebraska didn’t exactly have a banner year but they were good enough to win the Big 12 North and earn a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game. Then, they showed up in a big way against Texas, took the lead late but still had some defensive breakdowns that allowed the Texas Longhorns to come back and kick a game-winning field goal with just one second remaining.

The Cornhuskers may be bummed to be playing in the Holiday Bowl when they know they could have changed the college football landscape and earned a much better bowl berth.

The Matchup

Both teams have offenses that are still finding their feet and both teams are led by stellar defenses. Overall, Arizona probably have the better offense but Nebraska has the better defense.

This will be a low-scoring, defensive battle and Arizona may have the better home field advantage since they’ll be closer to home.

This game means more to Arizona than it does to Nebraska and that should be the difference. Arizona and quarterback Nick Foles will make a few more plays and get the win.

The Bet Jamaica Reviews Pick: Arizona -2
