It’s a good thing that the Tar Heels are on this Thursday card because the inept Tigers are one pup (as well as UAB below) that we will not be backing anytime soon. Why should we? Larry Porter’s house has yet to see a league win (0-7 SU at home versus Conference USA foes under his command) and his kittens are not ‘well-done’ in the cover department either, posting a 1-6 ATS log. In fact, the Liberty Bowl Stadium crowd has witnessed only two ‘rare’ home wins in Porter’s two seasons and one of those was against FCS Austin Peay – a game which marked Memphis’ only ‘ITS’ win of the betting season. However, in a contest in which we wouldn’t play with Monopoly money, we’re certainly not about to back Doc Holliday’s Marshall squad as the Herd are just 1-6 ATS in ‘Last House Calls’ and 3-11-1 ATS over their last 15 as road chalk. Nope, since it’s unlikely that you’ll be coming in second place in a beauty contest anytime soon, we say save your money for the ‘Electric Company’ and the ‘Water Works.’ There’s simply no need a pay a ‘luxury tax’ this evening in Memphis. In other words, ‘just pass go.’ Free BSN Sports Pick: Marshall over Memphis by 12 Oddsmakers currently have the Thundering Herd listed as 13-point favorites versus the Tigers, while the game's total is sitting at 50.
