Hunger Bowl Betting PredictionsSuper Bowl betting is about to begin as the playoffs kick off, but bowl season is wrapping up in the NCAA, and on Sunday Boston College and Nevada will clash in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. In the matchup of offense versus defense, the latter usually wins out, but you can score one for the offense after this one.

Hunger Bowl Betting – Sunday, 9:00 PM ET

Nevada (12-1) won their last six games of the season to win a third of the WAC title, and their statement win was an upset of Boise State that ended the Broncos’ BCS dreams. The Wolf Pack has the No.3 rushing attack in the country, powered by quarterback Colin Kaepernick and back Vai Taua. They’re a bit more balanced now, though, and that is the key to their NCAA football betting odds. The defense has improved this year, and even though they’re 108th in the country against the pass, that’s because teams didn’t bother to run on them because the Wolf Pack would build up big leads and force teams to play catch-up.

On the other hand, Boston College (7-5) is 106th against the pass because teams just can’t run on them: they’re the best squad in the country at stopping the run. Linebackers Luke Kuechly and Mark Herzlich are massive in that regard, and they make up for a gambling secondary that racked up 19 picks. The defense has to be strong because the offense is a bit weak, coming in 106th, and they’re led by a couple of freshmen, quarterback Chase Rettig and running back Andre Williams, who is in the lineup because Montel Harris could miss this game because of a knee injury.

Your pay per head sportsbook has the Wolf Pack as a 7.5-point NCAA football betting favorite against the Eagles, who have lost two straight bowl games, while Nevada has lost four in a row. The Wolf Pack lobbied the bowl’s board to take them in this game over Boise State, and combined with their proximity to the stadium, they’ll probably have far more crowd support at AT&T Park. The Eagles have a strong defense, but they haven’t faced an offense with Nevada’s explosiveness all season, and now that the Wolf Pack can pass the ball better, they’re more of a threat. Boston College’s offense just isn’t good enough to keep the Eagles in it, as their skill players are too young, and even if Harris is back, what kind of condition will he be in after having knee surgery? The Wolf Pack have had an outstanding season, and they’re going to cap it off with a big bowl victory.
