While we still feel there won’t be any SU problems in Houston, the ATS scorecard is an entirely different story as the Cougars defense is a little too claw-less for our liking… especially when given the role of double-digit road chalk. As it is, Kevin Sumlin’s squad is a winless 0-11 ATS away off back-to-back SU wins versus an opponent with revenge and an equally futile 0-10 ATS as road favorites off back-to-back SU wins. That’s what we call downright ugly. A nasty on-deck revenger with East Carolina (2009 Conference USA title game loss) could also fi nd the Cougars in look-ahead mode. And while we mentioned in last week’s issue that the Miners were digging life on the road, they should arrive home with a little pep in their step following a three-game road trip which saw them cash all three tickets. While it’s true that you would likely fi nd us at Rosa’s Cantina rather than at this game if we were to ride into the west Texas town of El Paso, you will see us taking a whirl with the Miners and their 8-1 ATS log as home dogs tonight at Sun Bowl Stadium. Sportsbooks currently have the Cougars listed as 17½-point favorites versus the Miners, while the game's total is sitting at 64½. Betting Stats:
