Most people are familiar with the term TGIF but the folks in Tallahassee adhere to TGIS (Thank God It’s Saturday). That’s because their beloved Seminoles are an unprepared 1-5 SU and 0-6 ATS as regular-season weekday favorites since 2006. The 0-6 ATS log is bad enough but it’s actually harder to fathom the 1-5 SU record. Of course, most of those numbers were under Bobby Bowden but second-year HC Jimbo Fisher also contributed, falling at NC State last year on a Thursday, 28-24, as 4-point chalk. While we don’t see FSU’s 8th-ranked defense (has held five foes to season-low yards) allowing the outright upset to occur – especially against BC’s popgun attack (No. 101 in the land) – a date with the Hurricanes nine days later precludes us from laying this kind of wood. Series history also has us eyeing the Eagles (3-0 ATS last three) though HC Frank Spaziani’s recent woes at Alumni Stadium (1-10 ATS last 11 here after starting 5-0 ATS) has us on full alert. Nonetheless, its TDDOT (Take Double Digits on Thursday) as the points become the play in what should turn out to be a defensive struggle. The Seminoles are listed as 16-point favorites against the Eagles, and the game's total is sitting at 44.
