Granted, the Tide must replace a lot of talent lost to the NFL draft (four players in the first round, plus QB Greg McElroy) but Nick Saban and company will still be plenty pissed off over their monumental collapse against Auburn on this field last year that cost them a shot at a second consecutive National Championship. The Golden Flashes’ recent failures in this role are well documented: 1-32 SU in their last 33 lined non-conference games, including 0-11 and 2-9 ATS the last 11. Even so, we’re not convinced that Bama should be laying over five TD’s in this spot. Our ‘Just A Fact, Jack’ department reminds us Saban is a Kent State alum – and the Nictator might be a tad more concerned with the Tide’s upcoming trip to Penn State than rubbing out the Flashes here. Bottom line is we’d rather back a head coach who’s committed to keeping it on the floor for the full sixty minutes when laying this kind of wood. Take it or leave it. Our free pick for this betting game is Alabama Over. The current betting line at Betonline sportsbook is Alabama -38 and the total 47.
