To steal a line from Bon Jovi, ‘we’re halfway there’ and like all of the one-loss teams, the Mountaineers are ‘livin’ on a prayer.’ But for now, ‘they’ve got to hold on to what they’ve got’ and that’s a share of the Big East lead – and a fairly high national ranking. We’re not sure that wins over Marshall, Norfolk State, Maryland, Bowling Green and UConn warrant the 15th spot in the initial BCS Standings but ‘we’ll give it a shot’ and agree with the pollsters tonight in Syracuse. For starters, the Hillbillies have made the Carrier Dome their own personal watering hole, posting a 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS record since 2001. They’re also 12-4-1 ATS as road favorites off an ATS win of 7 or more points and 5-1 ATS with rest. Toss is the Orange’s 0-5 ATS weekday record, 1-4 ATS mark as home dogs of 7 or more points and 2-6 ATS Game Seven log as dogs and it does ‘make a difference’ in handicapping this contest. ‘Ready or not’, our MIDWEEK ALERT also informs us that the ‘Cuse is 0-5 ‘ITS’ in its five games versus FBS opposition this season. If you’re still not convinced, just ‘take our hand’ – WVU will make it, we swear. We’d like to give you more on this Big East fight, but that’s all ‘we’ve got.’… and we’re giving it! Currently the Mountaineers listed as 14-point favorites versus the Orange, while the game's total is sitting at 57½.
