Boston College Eagles vs. Miami Hurricanes College Football Odds

Boston College Eagles vs. Miami Hurricanes LInesThe Boston College Eagles and the Miami Hurricanes will fight to pick up a win on Friday at Sun Life Stadium in betting game televised on ABC.

The Hurricanes didn’t get to celebrate for long following their hard-fought 6-3 win at South Florida.

A day after becoming eligible for post-season play with its sixth victory of the season, Miami announced it would not accept a bowl bid because of an ongoing NCAA inquiry into the program.

Firstyear head coach Al Golden – whose new job was sabotaged almost from the beginning by numerous player suspensions – said he was disappointed but still chose to back what looked to be a conciliatory move to forestall further penalties.

“Anybody would be disappointed,” Golden said, “but they can’t take our spirit, they can’t take our unity, and they’re not going to take our toughness.”

The Canes may not need much of that spirit to dispatch Boston College, a team that’s never recovered from its 0-3 start to the campaign.

The woeful Eagles have lost the money four straight times versus the ‘U’ and failed to cash in four straight trips to the land of neverending humidity.

BC is also just 1-6-1 ATS off a pointspread win of 8 or more points versus Notre Dame and keeps regressing under coach Frank Spaziani (8-5 in 2009, 7-6 last year and 3-9 with a SU defeat here).

Miami hasn’t exactly shined in Last Home Game situations, going 1-8 ATS the last nine years, but Golden owns a solid 4-1 ATS mark in LHG’s so we’ll lean on that today.

A seventh win by the Canes here will equal their 7-win effort last year and thus place a feather in UM President Donna Shalala’s hat for the Golden hiring.

No ‘Doug Flutie’ miracles for BC this afternoon as the Canes close out 2011 on a torrid 7-1 ATS run. ‘U’ know what to do.

Sportsbooks currently have the Hurricanes listed as 14-point favorites versus the Eagles, while the game's total is sitting at 44.
