Vermont vs. Syracuse BettingOn one hand you have the America East’s Vermont Catamounts – a 25-9 team that no doubt deserved their place in this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball betting Tournament despite some believing that the number 16 seed out in the West Regional bracket could have gone to someone else. On the other hand, you have the Syracuse Orangemen who with a 28-4 record in the Big East fought their way to a 1 seed and will naturally be considered favorites going into this one. But the NCAA March Madness Tournament wouldn’t be named as such if it wasn’t for the upsets that are waiting to happen. A look at both Syracuse and Vermont will give us a better idea of how likely this First Round match is likely to be a nail biter.

Syracuse Orange is listed as 16-point favorites versus Vermont.

The Syracuse Orange are heavy 88.2 percent favorites over the Vermont Catamounts. The Catamounts are shooting 41.4 percent from the field which is significantly lower than the Orange who are forecasted to shoot 48.9 percent. The Orange have the rebounding advantage at 33 to 30.5.

NCAA Basketball Betting Odds: North Texas Mean Green vs. Kansas State Wildcats

March Madness Betting OddsThe meeting between North Texas Mean Green and the Kansas State Wildcats will be this Thursday at Ford Center.

North Texas is a scoring dream when hot, but too often loses focus and get sloppy. Odufwa is physical and able to score, but White is the leader. Along with Thompson, they form a potent duo at the betting line. Tramiel seems to have leveled off potential wise, but still is dependable. While the cast is there, it’s probably going to take another year of seasoning for them to really cook in the betting tournament.

Kansas State plays with passion which sometimes makes up for the lack of scoring, but has dropped games to much weaker opponents. At least the defense is a wall, and that will lead them if they can find points. Pullen is good for 19 points, and Clemente, when hot, can be counted on for 25. Samuels has talent and can be a threat, but doesn’t show it often enough. To win they need to keep relying defense and on turnover points, the question is will there be enough of them?
