 While the debate will undoubtedly rage on about the current bowl system in NCAA football, the fact of the matter is that the system got it right with the appointment of the two teams that will clash in this year’s Allstate BCS Championship game. An overtime field goal separated the No. 1 LSU Tigers from the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide in their SEC showdown earlier this season, a game in which the top-ranked program won 9-6 in the extra period. There is little doubt that the two best teams in the nation will fight for the right to call themselves the best, as the SEC continues its monopoly on the BCS.

 The Navy Midshipmen and the Army Black Knights will meet on Saturday at FedExField. 
This afternoon’s service academy skirmish marks the fi rst time since 2002 that both teams will be home for the holidays.
The Mids will not be going bowling for the first time in nine years because of a 27-24 defeat at San Jose State back on November 19.
“We lost five games by a total of 11 points, but the bottom line is that we still lost,” Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo lamented.
“That’s how small a margin of error we have here. We can never take (winning) for granted.”

Big Ten Championship Game: Wisconsin Favorite against Michigan State |

 The Michigan State Spartans and the Wisconsin Badgers face each other on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in the Big Ten Championship Game.
With the exception of Georgia vs. LSU, this is the game we’re looking forward to seeing the most, a matchup of two premier defenses as Sparty ranks No. 3 and the Badgers No. 7.
These guys slugged it out for 59 minutes and change at East Lansing on October 22nd before a Kirk Cousins ‘Hail Mary’ bomb on the last play of the game ruined Wisconsin’s perfect season, 37-31.
Wisky held the edge in most of that contest’s stats but a pair of turnovers and six penalties put them in a 14-point hole with just under 11 minutes remaining.
Though the gap was quickly closed by the outstanding play of QB Russell Wilson, it was opposing signal caller Cousins who made the game’s biggest throw.

 The Georgia Bulldogs and the LSU Tigers will meet on Saturday at Georgia Dome in the SEC Championship Game, televised on CBS.
How bizarre is this? No. 1 LSU can lose this brawl with Georgia and still punch a ticket to the national championship game (such is the result of yet another accursed season played under the thumb of the BCS).
First things first, however, as putting a leash on this bunch of Bulldogs might not be as easy as expected. First off, Mark Richt’s Dawgs are a best-in-show ‘Puttin’
Georgia is also riding a 10-0 SU and 7-2 ATS streak, owns a 4-1 ATS mark as dogs of 10 or more points and stands 5-2 ATS when playing with conference revenge. The Mad Hatter answers with a few ATS salvos of his own.
