The Texas Longhorns have not had it too easy for the past couple of years or longer. Fans still recall that National Championship game back in 2009 when they played against Alabama as the day when Colt McCoy got hurt. It was a loss that not only affected the game itself, but also the months to come.
2010 was a terrible year for the team as they were only able to win 5 games. There is memorable game that fans also remember during this year when their team got crushed by UCLA. Then with a small improvement they were only able to win 7 the year after. But in the most important game they were embarrassed every time.
This year they have big concerns in regards to their QB and pretty much the rest of the offense. They have depth at the very least, but it is still a matter to pay much attention to. It is good that the top three receivers of the team are coming back this college football betting season although none of them took the spotlight last year.
They are very talented and the Longhorns are counting on them to improve their record this time around. Personally I’m sure the three players are hoping for a competent QB that can deliver. They have two very good offensive coordinators and hopefully they will get it together on the offensive end.
On the bright side, this year their defense will be a very good one. Some believe it will even be an elite one. Alex Okafor and Jackson Jeffcoat are doing an amazing job. If they continue their performance they are top candidates to be first round draft picks without a doubt. There is also plenty of speed from the linebackers.
So what are we looking at potentially for this team? It looks like they might be a bit better than last year however they are not championship material. Their QB situation will not help at all and it will be challenging to get over that fact. The defense will have their shining moments but not all the time. They might be able to improve their winnings from last year but not by much. Pundits in the topic say they might get about 9 wins.
According to BetOnline sportsbook Texas Longhorns is 4/1 to win the BCS Championship.
