Same Old Pacers Will Struggle Versus Heat in Conference Finals

The Heat salvaged their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Indiana PacersThe Miami Heat nearly didn’t even make it to the NBA Finals a year ago. Things haven’t been the same since. The Heat salvaged their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Indiana Pacers, and went on to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder for an NBA championship. It is somewhat fitting that Miami will have to beat Indiana again to get to this year’s finals. This Pacers’ team is a lot like the one that lost to the Heat a year ago, and that is why they will be in tough to beat Miami this sportsbook reviews season.

Indiana is considered to be a team built for the grind of the playoffs. A physical, well-coached group that works hard every game and always seems to have a chance to win. That has been the story for the Pacers so far in these playoffs, and it has worked to this point. However, Indiana’s decision not to restructure its approach to its game against the New York Knicks raised eyebrows, as many live betting experts agreed the team would have taken care of business a lot quicker by going small and matching what the Knicks were doing. The Pacers ended up winning that series anyways and eliminating New York, but it may have set a bad live betting precedent for the conference finals.

The fact that Indiana managed to get away with those things against the Knicks might have actually made them more confident in playing big, and that could hurt against a Miami team that knows what to expect. The Heat faced this same group a year ago, and it helped make them what they became. Miami’s smaller lineup was able to tire out the Pacers and find the open shots they needed to win those crucial games in the price per head series. The Heat haven’t changed their playing style since, and considering the adjustment was made to beat this same Indiana team, it’s likely it will work again this time around. Lebron James and company are too skilled to lose four games before figuring out what works, and that is why they are the defending champions.

There is a lot to like about this Pacers’ team, from the way that they play hard at both ends of the floor to the way that their biggest stars like Paul George never let up on their assignments whether it is on offense or defense. However, with the way this Indiana team is structured, adjustments need to be made to win games against a sports betting team as talented as Miami. The Heat made those adjustments in last year’s postseason and ended up coming back to beat the Pacers and eventually win a championship. This Indiana club seems to not want to do the same, and that is why these same old Pacers’ will struggle against Miami in this year’s conference finals the same way they did last season.
