No matter how good Miami Heat forward Lebron James has been throughout his career, he has not been able to shake the wrath of his relentless critics. With the possibility of becoming the first three-time MVP to lose his first three trips to the NBA finals, as well as dealing with both Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh struggling due to injury, the pressure on Lebron has never been greater than it is heading in to game three of the NBA finals. How Lebron responds to that pressure will go a long way in determining the outcome of this Sunday’s game three, which can either help Miami get back in the sports betting series, or push them to the verge of elimination.
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Miami Heat (Gm. 3)
With the chance to move to within one win of an NBA title, don’t expect the Thunder to let up one bit. Oklahoma City dominated the pace of the game at home, and if they can come out with the same type of effort in game three, they can take the crowd in Miami out of it early on and ruin any chance of the Heat gaining any momentum.
NBA Betting Preview: Oklahoma City Thunder
The biggest difference between the two teams through the first two games has been the advantage in options that the Thunder have benefited from, with a much deeper roster in terms of both offensive and defensive skill. Reigning scoring champion Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden have led the way for Oklahoma City on offense in these playoffs, while Kendrick Perkins, Serge Ibaka, and Thabo Sefolosha taking care of business at the other end of the floor. The Thunder has been the most complete team in the majors all season, and that won’t change with the series shifting to Miami.
NBA Betting Preview: Miami Heat
Lebron showed how dominant he can be with the Heat facing elimination against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern conference finals, but it may take several more of that type of effort for Miami to have any chance against Oklahoma City. Wade has struggled to find his form despite not missing any time, while Bosh has undoubtedly returned earlier than he would have if the Heat didn’t need him back in the lineup so badly. Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers have both been solid in the series, but with so much invested in the play of the big three, Wade and Bosh are going to need to do much more in game three for the Heat to have any chance.
NBA Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Heat will struggle to win four games against an Oklahoma City team that is either as good or better in nearly every aspect of their game, but with their backs against the wall and the crowd at the American Airlines Arena behind them, look for them to get at least one win. Lebron needs to understand that Miami’s only per head chance in this series hinges on him being absolutely dominant, and if he can get even a little help from Wade and Bosh in game three, the Heat will get on the board.
