NBA Betting: Mavericks Finally Arrive Cooling Heat in NBA Finals

Mavericks vs. Heat in NBA FinalsThere is no city where the hurt has been stronger at the end of the NBA scores season than in Dallas, Texas, where the beloved Mavericks have become nothing more than perennial entertainers over the past few years. There is always that same optimism, that same sense that the team has what it takes to go all the way, the strong finish to the regular season, and then of course the collapse at the end. That won’t happen in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks finally earning their due, as they get their revenge and cool off Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat in the NBA finals.

It was Wade and the Heat that came back with three straight wins to knock off Dallas in the 2006 NBA finals, the first time in franchise history that the Mavericks had even gotten that far. It seems fitting that a team with an owner as engaged as Mark Cuban and fans as diehard as the ones that consistently sellout the American Airlines Center gets more on their resume than a single conference title, and this year Rick Carlisle seems as though he has enough talent to get the online sports betting job done.

While much of the criticism has fallen on the shoulders of Dirk Nowitzki, the All-Star forward has always been a consistent force for a Mavericks’ team that has not been able to support him when it matters the most. But with the addition of arguably their best center in franchise history in Tyson Chandler and the development of Jason Terry and JJ Barea, Dallas has all of the tools to go all the way. Role players such as long-range specialist Peja Stojakovic and defensive specialist DeShawn Stevenson have been consistent when called upon, and if they can continue to perform the depth that the Mavericks have will make the difference against a Miami team that is severely lacking beyond the big three. Basketball is unlike MLB betting where you need so many elements to win, but at the same time relying on three players alone could have consequences.

Heat forward Chris Bosh certainly won’t have it as easy underneath with Chandler bumping and banging, and Stevenson and Barea both have the speed to make things a little more difficult for Wade. It won’t be as much about defending as it will be about pay per head offense getting the job done and putting up points, and the Mavericks should be able to create plenty of mismatches. Miami has been able to get the job done despite missing the depth that most championship teams have relied on over the years, and although it has worked so far it could catch up to them against a Dallas team that is much more confident rolling its reserves. Mavericks’ fans have waited since 1980 for their franchise to bring home its first NBA title, and now it seems as though the waiting will finally pay off as Nowitzki and company overwhelm Miami to win this year’s championship and get some revenge for the 2006 loss.
